Wedding Guidelines

Preparing for a Sacred Celebration
Congratulations on your engagement! We are delighted to assist you in preparing for your wedding at Mary, Mother of God Parish, encompassing both St. Patrick and St. Monica Churches. Our guidelines are designed to help you plan a ceremony that reflects the sacredness of the sacrament of matrimony.
Marriage Preparation
Initial Meeting: Contact the parish office at least six months before your desired wedding date to schedule an initial meeting with a priest or deacon.
Documentation: Provide newly issued baptismal certificates (for Catholics), confirmation records, and, if applicable, annulment decrees
Preparation Programs: Participate in required marriage preparation programs, such as FOCCUS surveys and counseling sessions.
Stay connected with what’s happening across our parish.
Ceremony Planning
Liturgical Planning: Work with the priest to select readings, music, and other elements of the ceremony.
Music and Decorations: Music should be sacred and approved by the parish music director. Decorations should enhance the ceremony without causing distractions.
Photography: Photographers are welcome but should remain unobtrusive during the ceremony.
